“Now with God’s help, I shall become myself.”

-Soren Kierkegaard

Have you ever felt trapped? It is a terrible realization when you wake up and realize that the life you are living is not your own. You may have freedom the way a prisoner has freedom in whether he will eat or not eat; or maybe if he will fight or try to live peaceable with other convicts. Yet there is no freedom in the truest sense of the word. The bars, the choice of food, the mandatory bunk mate, makes him feel like someone else is in control and indeed they are.

Many of us live life exactly this way. The choices we make are limited at best. We may choose to work, we choose what programming to watch on television, we may choose our associates, but all choices remain micro decisions in comparison to the magnificence of the greatness our lives could reflect if were would walk in the light of our true selves.

True freedom comes when the person on the journey is there because she deliberately designed her life to be there. As Earl Nightingale put it, “the only successful person is doing what she chose to do, deliberately.” This type of freedom gives you control over your life while ironically placing you in circumstances where there is very little control over your future. This adds excitement and adventure to life. If you say yes to this freedom you can learn to let go of your inhibitions that have trapped you to live in the prison of others opinions to enjoy the uncertainty of fulfillment. The ability to run free and experience the adventure of life, experiencing the height of your passion while being remunerated in a way the provides for your future. This is freedom!
